2016/17 Technical Training Registration Week

Technical Training Registration Week will occur July 11 to 15, 2016

Registration opens at 8:30 am on July 11th for all technical training classes for the 2016-17 academic year.

All methods of registration (online, phone in and walk in) will be available (See *Notes below).

Apprentices and Employers will receive detailed information in the mail in May, 2016.

Apprentices! Prepare now for online registration by following the eligibility guidelines listed below.


Online course registration takes a few minutes. Search, register and pay for the technical training courses that you want anytime. Avoid missing work or wait times typical of in-person or telephone registration.


To be eligible to register for courses online, ensure the following:

  1. You are a registered apprentice with Apprenticeship Manitoba
    This means that you have submitted an Apprenticeship Manitoba Application with the required application fee and your Apprenticeship Agreement (the contract between you and your employer) has been registered with Apprenticeship Manitoba. All registered apprentices receive notification and a pocket identification card by mail, confirming their status as an apprentice.
  2. There is no 'hold' on your account such as outstanding payments, or documentation or assessments that have not been completed.
  3. You have successfully completed your previous level of technical training
    If you have failed a level, you will not be able to register online and must register with Apprenticeship Manitoba by phone, in-person or by mail.
  4. You have correctly established a login and a profile in AccessManitoba

HSAP Credits: Apprentices who have transferred into post-secondary apprenticeship with HSAP credits must register by phone or in-person to Apprenticeship Manitoba. Tuition payments may be waived for apprentices with HSAP credits however this option is not available for online course registrants.

Repeating a Level: Apprentices repeating a level of technical training must register by phone or in person to Apprenticeship Manitoba. Online registration is not available for Apprentices who are repeating a level.

Post Secondary Apprentices: Post Secondary Apprentices need an AccessManitoba user ID and password to register online. Prepare now! Apprentices who need to activate their AccessManitoba account should contact the Help Desk well before registration week. Contact us.

Technical Training Registration – Guide and Course Schedules

Review the information below about preparing for technical training registration, course schedules, policies and supports. Further information about apprenticeship training and certification is also available by visiting the Apprenticeship Manitoba website at manitoba.ca/tradecareers.

Tuition Fees & Payment

Depending on the trade, tuition fees vary from $200 - $400/level.

Visa or MasterCard is required to make payment for online course registration. Tuition payment is non refundable and non transferable.

If you do not have a credit card, you can purchase a prepaid Visa or MasterCard credit card from your local bank or credit union.

A receipt is issued to the payee immediately by email following successful online course registration. Give this receipt to your employer, if your tuition fees are to be covered by your company or organization.

Course Registration Confirmation

Confirmation of technical training will be provided to both apprentice and employer after payment is made. In addition to the receipt issued following successful online course registration, letter to confirm registration will be mailed to the apprentice eight weeks prior to the course start date.
